Capital funding creeps ups

Capital funding for higher education is rising steadily to levels last seen six years ago. Funding for higher education was an estimated £381 million in 2001-02, compared with £409 million in 1995-96. But capital funding for further education is struggling to reach previous levels. The figure for 2001-02 was estimated at £136 million, compared with £171 million in 1992-93 at 2001-02 prices.
