Candid Christmas card

十二月 14, 2001

Universities UK has just issued its contender for the worst Christmas card of the millennium, with a collage of pictures of its staff in the shape of the organisation's logo.

To be fair, most of them look as though they have been caught unawares. Former president Sir Howard Newby is not looking at the camera, policy director Tony Bruce is on the phone and chief executive Baroness Warwick appears to have just caught sight of the photographer. Senior press and public relations officer Poppy, otherwise known as Audrey, obviously has her attention elsewhere. The new president, Roderick Floud, is nowhere to be seen.

For those unlucky enough to be omitted from Universities UK's Christmas card list, the image is reproduced on the front of the organisation's annual report, published last week.
