Cambridge/Lancaster/Warwick - It all adds up

Producing employable mathematics researchers who will contribute to the UK economy is the aim of a £13 million investment in three new Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs). The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council has announced funding for centres at the universities of Cambridge, Lancaster and Warwick. They are the first to be dedicated to mathematical sciences and are being created in addition to the existing 44 CDTs that were set up in 2008 with £250 million of EPSRC funding. The centres will have close links with industry and help researchers "contribute to the long-term scientific, technological and economic wellbeing of the UK".
