Cambridge rejects don's grievance

A Cambridge don has accused the university of a "disgraceful failure to observe the principles of justice and fairness to all", after the university rejected a grievance case over his rights as a non-university teaching officer. Vice-chancellor Alec Broers ruled that the university did not breach its statutes when it vetoed Roger Dawe's application for promotion. As only those who hold university offices may seek promotion, the ruling said, Dr Dawe had no case.
