The European Commission's Directorate General for Information Society and the Media has published a call for tenders for the assessment of financing opportunities available to Member States to support and boost investment in e-health. The aim of the contract is to support specific actions of the e-health action plan for 2006. It will assess the financing opportunities available to the Member States to support and boost investment in e-health (implementation, exploitation and deployment) in their own regions, nations, and cross-border.

The study will cover coverage, availability, sums of financing, conditions and opportunities for partnerships from both European organisations (e.g. Directorate-General for Regional Policy, European Investment Bank) but also internationally (WHO, UN, World Bank). It will also engage in an associated workshop(s) (2), soliciting input to the survey but also ensuring dissemination/information awareness/multiplier effects.
