The research priorities board has decided that this year there will be a single research priorities competition for centres, groups and priority networks. This will focus on four topic areas that have been selected for the competition. These topics are listed below. For a more detailed description of the topics and the key issues within them refer to the web site.

Competition Area 2: Changing families
Competition Area 3: Pathways into and out of crime
Competition Area 4: Poverty, inequality and quality of life in the developing world
There will be no outline proposal stage.
