Call for expressions of interest for assistance with specific aspects of work under FP6

The European Commission's Research DG has published a call for expressions of interest for individuals and organisations to assist with specific aspects of work related to the 'support for the coherent development of research and innovation policies' section of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6).

Those individuals and organisations interested in having their details included on a list of potential contractors are invited to send an application to the Commission. Areas of expertise should cover one or more of the following areas:

  • National, regional, and sectoral systems and policies for research and development, and innovation in Europe, the USA and Japan.
  • Macro-economic analysis and economic growth theories relating to science and technology, and innovation.
  • Industrial economic analysis (structure, performance, competitiveness).
  • Micro-economic analysis of research and development, and innovation.
  • Econometric analysis relating to research and development, and innovation.
  • Public and private investment in research and development (R&D) and innovation at both the national and regional level.
  • International R&D cooperation in the EU.
  • Analysis of human resources in science and technology and their mobility.
  • Science and Technology (S&T) education and R&D in the higher education sector.
  • Analysis of technological and organisational innovation.
  • Public research and its links with industry.
  • Analysis of industrial investment in research and determining factors.
  • Effectiveness of public financing mechanisms for research (including public-private partnerships, direct support, fiscal incentives, guarantee mechanisms and support of risk capital) and related regulatory issues.
  • Use of public procurement to encourage research and innovation.
  • Industrial R&D management and productivity.
  • Factors affecting access of firms to private sources of finance for research and innovation.
  • Interactions between regulations/standards and research/innovation in specific technological areas.
  • R&D labour market.
  • Intellectual property right systems and their use (patents, licences, copyrights).
  • Patent analyses.
  • Bibliometric analyses.
  • History of science, technology and innovation.
  • Statistics and indicators on science and technology.
  • Surveys techniques and statistical methodology in science, technology and innovation.
  • Foresight methodologies in relation to policy analysis.
  • Monitoring European foresight activities at global, national and regional level.
  • Analysis of R& D in services.
  • Analysis of European Common Foreign and Security Policy in relation to research and innovation policy.
  • S& T scenario work for and in developing countries and emerging economies.
