The Commission is funding a science poster campaign as part of European science and technology week (4 to 10 November), which will be seen by over eight million people on buses in every Member State capital.

The Sci-bus campaign will encourage young people to have their say on the hottest issues in science, such as transport, medical techniques and food production. They will do so using their mobile phones or via a specially created website.

The project was planned by the graphic science unit at the University of the West of England, in partnership with the European molecular biology organisation, and is based on a successful pilot campaign that ran across the UK. Professor Frank Burnet, who directs the graphic science unit, said: 'Many people would like to have more say about how science is applied in their world. This is a unique chance and I hope lots of people take it.'

The project is receiving nearly half a million euro in EU funding, and is funded under the human potential heading of the Fifth Framework Programme.
