Student teams from around the world are invited to enter the 2002 BP Conservation Programme Awards to secure funding, training and support for the field research projects that they are planning, which tackle conservation issues of international importance.

Each year The BP Conservation Programme presents awards and training to international teams. In 2002 £125,000 worth of funding will be available for the winning projects – £7,000 to the best project, £5,000 to five other projects; £3,000 to twelve runner-up projects and the top ‘Follow-Up’ awards of between £10,000-£20,000 are presented to the best proposals for follow-up work submitted by a previous year’s winner.

All projects applying to the programme for an award must address a recognised conservation issue of international importance, must involve local people and have clearance from the host government and the majority of team members should be under- or post-graduate students.

Entry forms can be submitted electronically via the programme’s website.
