A £3 million virtual graduate school with a green focus has officially opened and will begin teaching its first students this month. The Midlands Energy Graduate School, a collaboration between the universities of Birmingham, Loughborough and Nottingham, will produce postgraduates in areas ranging from renewable energy to sustainable building. The school, which will bring together the research of more than 200 academics, is funded by an award from the Higher Education Funding Council for England.
