At least 120 Kazak students at religious colleges in Islamic countries are defying orders from Kazakhstan president Nursultan Nazarbayev to return home. The order went out in September, triggered by concerns about fundamentalist influences on them. So far, only ten students have returned from Pakistan. Another 20 or so are expected to return soon from Pakistan and Iran.
