The NERC's Antarctic Funding Initiative seeks to encourage field-based research conducted in locations within the British Antarctic Survey's operating area. AFI will usually provide funding for up to three years, although projects of longer duration can be considered if appropriate. The total annual budget for round eight is £2.2 million full economic costing.
