Another dippy acronym

If ever there was a cautionary tale about acronyms it emerged just after the general election when the collection of letters attached to Alan Johnson's Department for Productivity, Energy and Industry led it to be nicknamed the "penis" or "dippy" department.

Within days the sober old name "Department for Trade and Industry" - or DTI - was restored.

But the merging of institutions in Kent and Surrey has created the University College for the Creative Arts at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester - or the tongue twisting UCCACEFMR.

Is this doomed to be known as the University of Gobstopper or could a historic name from elsewhere be resurrected and put to new use - Ucca?
