The 28th international Antarctic conference of the scientific committee on Antarctic research (SCAR) will be held in Bremen, Germany, from 25 to 31 July.

All disciplines of Antarctic research will be covered during the conference, which is expected to attract around 600 scientists from more than 30 countries.

The event is intended to provide a forum for young scientists to present their work, as well as to identify and give impetus to new research themes. Current international research programmes will be coordinated, and new ones initiated.

In order to meet all of the conference objectives, the meeting will be divided into a three day scientific conference for all interested Antarctic researchers, and a two day planning phase for SCAR members only.
