University of the West of Scotland

UWS SCHOOL OF HEALTH AND LIFE SCIENCES

With our growing student numbers and exciting new development plans, UWS School of Health & Life Sciences is seeking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals across a number of disciplines for academic and professional services roles.

We offer innovative teaching and research opportunities, firmly focused on the real-world challenges facing the health care and life sciences sectors. Our students benefit from our well-established links with partner organisations across the private, public and third sectors.

We are involved in ground-breaking, internationally relevant research that is continuing to establish the University as a force for good and our researchers are making a difference in a number of areas including:

  • Dementia education
  • Creating a viable preventative treatment for Acanthamoeba Keratitis (the eye condition prevalent amongst contact lens users)
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
  • Improving the wellbeing of Scotland’s children through physical education

We anticipate growth of 3-5% in our pre-registration programmes this academic year and have just been awarded a contract to deliver a new Bachelors programme in Paramedic Science, from September 2020, in collaboration with the Scottish Ambulance Service.

We were recognised with the award for Best Educational Initiative in Scotland’s Dementia Awards 2019 for our Carer’s Academy and we have been involved in the development of a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Practice with ISDC (International Skill Development Corporation) in India.

So, there’s plenty going on and we’re looking for those keen to join us as we take the School forward in its exciting development plans.

Find out more about our opportunities currently live on THEunijobs.
