UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON Christopher Bagley, professor of social work at the University of Calgary, has been appointed to the chair of social work studies; David Cesarani, professor of modern Jewish studies at the University of Manchester, has been appointed Parkes-Wiener professor of 20th-century European Jewish history and culture, and director of the Wiener Library and Institute of Contemporary History.
UNIVERSITY OF TEESSIDE Reza Sotudeh, reader and leader of the divisions of electronic and computer engineering and head of the university's computer architecture research unit, is at 36 the university's youngest-ever appointee to the role of professor.
