The University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology has appointed the following chairs: Keith Hoskin, senior lecturer in accounting and finance at Warwick Business School, chair in accounting; Michael Sinnott, professor of chemistry at the University of Illinois, chair in paper science; Jan Hugill, physics department manager UKAEA Fusion, chair in physics.

Gary Davis, director of the institute of mathematics education at La Trobe University, Canada, chair of education; Cora Kaplan, professor of English at Rutgers University, New Jersey and director of Rutgers Institute for Research on Women, chair in English; Andy Keane, dean of Pembroke College, Oxford, chair of mechanical engineering; Mark Lutman, MRS Institute of Hearing Research in Nottingham, chair of audiology; Steve Thomas, professor of finance at the University College of Wales, Swansea, chair of financial markets.
