University teaching reforms risk destroying the learning experience for students by forcing academics to adhere to a rigid lecturing style - Times Higher, April 23

Good Morning. Today's lecture is titled "An introduction to the life and work of Freud" ( PowerPoint displays "An introduction to the life and work of Freud ")

The overall pedagogic goal of this lecture is to provide an introduction to the life and work of Freud through the realisation of four strategic objectives:

1: To discover Freud's full name and birthplace ( PowerPoint displays first strategic objective )

2: To learn the names of two of Freud's works ( PowerPoint displays second objective )

3: To master the name of the therapy developed by Freud ( PowerPoint displays third objective )

4: To evaluate Freud's contribution to knowledge ( PowerPoint displays fourth objective )

Freud's first name was Sigmund ( PowerPoint displays titled portrait ). He was born in 1856 in Moravia ( PowerPoint displays view ). Two of his works were The Interpretation of Dreams and Civilisation and Its Discontents ( PowerPoint displays titles ). He founded psychoanalysis ( PowerPoint displays PSY - CHO - ANAL - Y - SIS ). Most people think there's something in what he says but he went too far ( PowerPoint displays "Something in what he says but went too far" ) .

And now to summarise: this morning we have learnt that Freud's first name was Sigmund, he was born in Moravia, wrote The Interpretation of Dreams and Civilisation and Its Discontents and founded psychoanalysis, which went too far.

Will you please now complete your evaluation forms.

a. Were the four strategic objectives met?

b. Was the overall goal realised?

c. Did the lecturer avoid all ambiguity, digression and emotional involvement?

d. Could you understand every single word?

Please hand in your feeding spoons as you leave the hall. I'll see you all in a week ( PowerPoint displays "SEVEN DAYS" ).
