Unsuitable company

What a depressing article from Phillip Brown ("When merit means nothing", July 20).

Brown paints education as the background from which people "tailor themselves to the perceived requirements for success".

Perhaps he is right and there are lots of people doing that.

I hope I don't meet any of them.
