TQA just wasn't worth the pain 2

二月 27, 2004

Where was the self-criticism in the Quality Assurance Agency's valedictory report? I was an assessor. I was myself assessed. At Middlesex University, I was in charge of the preparations for assessment. What struck me was the alarming variability in the quality of assessors; the inadequate training that assessors were given; and the development of a methodology that lent itself so easily to what I shall charitably call "manipulation".

It would have been helpful if the report had at least acknowledged these shortcomings.
