Still weighting for rise

You say that inner London weighting is now £2,632 a year, rising to £2,726 ("Union says £7 rise will not halt exodus", July 23). On which fortunate souls is such bounty bestowed? Unless I am mistaken, London weighting for academics is £2,134 a year, now rising to about Pounds 2,360, after some 11 years at the old level. At the current rate it will take us another 11 years to reach £2,632, never mind the princely sum of £2,726.
