Oxford answers back 2

Bernard Crick argues that Oxbridge democracy makes students non-citizens (I assume that he means "citizens" of the university).

I hold no brief for Oxbridge, but it is important to note that students have no long-term commitment to their university. They come to us for help in building the houses in which they will live in future. We academics will not be invited to share those houses, so we have a right to take a special interest in the long-term health of our house.

Everybody should be heard, but we who will stay long enough to suffer the consequences of policy have a right to a much stronger voice.
