"As the paradigm of responsible belief formation, religion is open, creative and always subject to debate. Science is dogmatic, final, closed, knows all the answers, damns as superstitious or irrational anyone who disagrees and too frequently pillories to boot." (No apologies for the plagiarism from Grayling and not a reflection of personal belief.) As an educationist in religion, philosophy and ethics, I am fascinated by scientific theory. I beg to differ with A. C. Grayling and aim to keep an open mind.
