One rule for all applicants

九月 2, 2010

The Sunday Times' claim, repeated in Times Higher Education, that "a reporter posing as a Russian applicant was told by universities including ... Leicester ... that she could get a place with A-level results up to three grades lower than those demanded of Brits" is not true (The week in higher education, 26 August).

This was categorically rebutted both before and after publication; the informal offer made was identical to the grades offered to UK students. A more detailed rebuttal can be found on the university's newsblog at http://bit.ly/dDnoWg.
