Theology and cryptography are not the only potential beneficiaries of The Da Vinci Code 's popularity ("Code sets Holloway on Hollywood path", September 17). King's College London may not yet house the "most complete and electronically advanced religious research libraries in the world", as author Dan Brown describes it. But it does house the Joint Information Systems Committee, which this year made virtually all books printed in English between 1473 and 1700 available free online to further and higher education. Fictional librarian Pamela Gettum could have easily consulted the Early English Books Online collection.
Jisc is inviting UK academics to have their say in what texts they want keyed in at the British Library on October 25.
