Justified boycott 1

六月 11, 2004

London Metropolitan's vice-chancellor, Brian Roper, sees Natfhe's resistance to his attempts to impose a contract on staff "ill-considered" ("Call for global boycott of London Met", June 4). Why should our union allow us to be bullied into a contract widely seen to be bad and damaging to the student experience?

Natfhe's strength lies in its defence of London Met staff's academic freedom. In so doing, it defends the wider interests of students, colleagues and the public. It is this that attracts support; the university should recognise it.
