Going round in circles

The "questions over whether the system should have a reliance on internal rotations" ("Sector fails to assist its former pro v-cs", December 7) should be asked about academic management roles generally. Rotations benefit only vice-chancellors and their "professional" management advisers, and academics’ attendant reluctance to engage with these roles serves only to marginalise academics in consideration of the pressing issues the sector faces, including how best to use available resources.
