Aim is not to satisfy

九月 1, 2006

In your editorial ("Survey needs absentees", August 25), you mistakenly call the National Student Survey the National Student Satisfaction Survey despite the fact that only the last question is about satisfaction and you ignore it when drawing up your league table.

You are wise to ignore it, because the role of a univer-sity is not to satisfy students, but to change them so that they graduate with different desires from those they had when they enrolled.
