Personality and Individual Differences. First Edition

十一月 23, 2007

There's no mistaking that this is a British textbook. There are a huge number of flow charts but not one single image to break up the text. I am not saying that students nowadays like picture books, but this book is aimed at first-year undergraduates, and it needs something more than the text to hold their attention. Despite the dour look, it is a good textbook with in-depth discussions of current issues in personality and individual differences.

Who is it for? First-year psychology students.

Presentation: I was amused to read that one reviewer commended this book for its "highly readable style". Despite the layout, the writing is clear.

Would you recommend it? Yes, for the more serious student.

Janine Spencer is a developmental psychologist and runs the Centre for Research in Infant Behaviour at Brunel University.
