First Impressions

十一月 16, 2007

This week's competition, in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, is from a classic, elegantly written work about a personal journey that explores the ethics, theology and politics of its time:

"Glory, from Him who moves all things that are, penetrates the universe and the shines back, reflected more in one part, less elsewhere."

Entries, including postal address, should be sent to First Impressions, The Times Higher , 26 Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4HQ, faxed to 020 3194 3300 or e-mailed to theschat@thes.co.uk

The winner receives a £25 book voucher. The closing date is November 19.

The winner of last week's competition, who identified Eric Hobsbawm's Interesting Times , was Andrew Dommett of Tividale, West Midlands.
