First Impressions

五月 29, 1998

This week's First Impressions, the competition in which you are asked to identify a book from its opening passage, is from the work of a recently deceased Nobel laureate about his native land:

"All of us, at some moment, have had a vision of our existence as something unique, untransferable and very precious. This revelation almost always takes place during adolescence."

The winner receives a £20 book token and the closing date is June 2.
