This week's First Impressions, the competition in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, comes from the man who first introduced us all to the Butterfly Effect:
"The police in the small town of Los Alamos, New Mexico, worried briefly in 1974 about a man seen prowling in the dark, night after night, the red glow of his cigarette floating along the back streets."
The winner receives a £20 book token and the closing date is March 17.
