This week's competition, in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, is from a work in which the protagonist feels particularly friendly towards the end of the week: " I was born in the year 1632, in the city of York, of a good family, tho' not of that country, my father being a foreigner of Bremen, who settled first at Hull ."
