First Impressions competition: March 13 2008

三月 13, 2008

This week’s competition, in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, is from a Pulitzer Prize-winning celebration of the human spirit:

"In Haddam, summer floats over tree-softened streets like a sweet lotion balm from a careless, languorous god, and the world falls in tune with its own mysterious anthems."

Entries, including your postal address, should be sent to First Impressions, Times Higher Education, 26 Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4HQ, faxed to 020 3194 3300 or emailed to chat@timeshighereducation.co.uk

The winner receives a £25 book voucher. The closing date is 19 March 2008.

The winner of last week’s competition, who identified The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, is Michelle Williams of Lostock Hall, Preston.
