Final Word

十二月 15, 1995

This Final Word comes from the epilogue of a book by an author who remains unconvinced by the terminally ambitious:

"'FEEL LIKE? Oh, I a most interesting question, my lad I er I rather like to know the answer to that myself', said the Chief Designer. 'Let's see what our friend has to say about I. that's odd I er Ultronic says it doesn't see what I it can't even understand what you're getting at!' The ripples of laughter about the room burst into a roar.

Adam felt acutely embarrassed. Whatever they should have done, they should not have laughed."

The winner of last week's competition, who identified George Steiner's The Death of Tragedy , is W. D. Redfern of Reading, Berkshire.
