This week's competition, in which you have to identify a book from its opening sentence, is from an author regarded by many as a writer of 'dirty books':

The winner receives a £25 book voucher. The closing date is November 13 . The winner of last week's competition, who identified D. H. Lawrence's Lady Chatterley's Lover , is Lynne Barnett of Notttingham Trent University.
