First Impressions

This week's competition to identify a book from its opening sentence is from a Norwegian novel of rural life:

"The long, long road over the moors and up into the forest - who trod it into being first of all?"

The winner receives a £25 book voucher. The closing date is April 18.

The winner of last week's competition, who identified Richard Dawkins's The Selfish Gene , was Sanjiv Sachdev of Kingston University.
