Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, formerly known as Zonguldak Karaelmas University, was founded in 1992 with a primary focus on education in mining and engineering. It’s situated in Zonguldak, the capital of Zonguldak Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey. While the university in its present form was founded in 1992, it has links back to the Mining Engineering School, which was established in 1924. Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University now has 14 different faculties: medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, engineering, education, arts and sciences, fine arts, economics and administrative sciences, theology and communication. There’s also nine vocational schools. Students can gain both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees within these faculties. To supplement studies, there’s both a hospital and dentistry practice available for students. This is where students can put the skills learnt in the classroom into practise to prepare them for careers in these professions. On campus, there’s an indoor semi-Olympic size swimming pool, a fitness centre and an exercise room. Students and faculty can use the facilities, as well as graduates, retired and guest users. There’s also a guest house, located within the campus of the university in the centre of Zonguldak, which is open to all public employees and guests of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. The university also has partnerships with other universities worldwide offering students the chance to spend a year studying abroad. Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University also accepts international students to its campus every year.

Ref.: 534420 Work type: Full-time Department: Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine (20900) Categories: Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Professor (several posts) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534420), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance. Exceptionally outstanding candidates may be considered for appointment on tenure terms. The Department is seeking for candidates from the following disciplines within the scope of obstetrics and gynaecology to join our team: General Gynaecology, Gynaecological Oncology, Reproductive Medicine & IVF, General Obstetrics, High Risk Obstetrics, Fetal Medicine, and Prenatal Diagnosis. Applicants should hold a specialist registration with the Medical Council of Hong Kong or be eligible to apply to the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine for the Certification of Specialist Registration, and possess other relevant higher academic qualifications (e.g., MD, MS, PhD). They should have a distinguished and sustained record of high-quality impactful research (basic science, translational and/or clinical research), with demonstrated clinical excellence. They should also have achieved international recognition for their scholarship and professional expertise. In addition, applicants must have an outstanding and consistent record of excellence in teaching and learning and/or knowledge exchange, services and administration. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated administrative leadership and management experience in universities or healthcare settings. The appointees will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across all aspects of its teaching, research, and clinically oriented activities, etc. They will promote academic collaboration both within and outside the Faculty and University and explore new strategic directions for the further development of the Department. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable. The University only accepts online application for the above posts. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The researcher will be part of the team of the MCCS NATURE Project (https://www.nparks.gov.sg/Cuge/Programmes-Schemes/Research%20Programmes/MCCS%20Programme). The primary role involves developing and validating CFD models to study wave attenuation by mangroves, seagrass, and coral. Responsibilities include calibrating simulations with experimental data, analyzing shear coefficients and drag forces, and contributing to interdisciplinary research on coastal protection, with an emphasis on delivering accurate and impactful modeling insights. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: 1. Wave Stochastic Analysis and Hydrodynamics Conduct advanced stochastic analysis of wave environments to evaluate the performance of floating structures. Analyze hydrodynamic behavior of floating breakwaters under varied sea conditions. 2. CFD and Finite Element Modeling Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimize the design and performance of floating breakwaters. Develop finite element models for stability assessment, structural integrity, and dynamic response of floating systems. 3. Connector Design Design and analyze mechanical connectors for the integration of multi-purpose floating breakwater systems, ensuring structural stability and durability. 4. Design and Integration Develop innovative designs for floating breakwaters that integrate wave energy converters (WECs), tidal energy systems, and solar energy platforms. Optimize design configurations to maximize energy harnessing and wave attenuation. 5. Experimental Testing Plan and conduct physical model tests in wave flumes or basins to validate computational models. Analyze experimental data to improve and validate the floating breakwater design. 6. Research Documentation and Dissemination: Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations to disseminate findings to academic and industry stakeholders. Contribute to project proposals and progress updates for funding agencies. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. 7. Project Management Support: Ensure timely execution of project milestones Coordinate with external collaborators and manage data-sharing protocols. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements PhD/Master’s in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Proficiency in hydrodynamic modeling tools (e.g., ANSYS AQWA, OrcaFlex) and finite element analysis software (e.g., Abaqus, ANSYS). Experience with stability and mooring system design. Strong analytical skills and familiarity with data collection instruments and techniques. Excellent communication and report-writing abilities. Good understanding of industry standard will be an advantage Ability to work independently and in teams in both lab and field environments. The Faculty of Law at the University of Helsinki is seeking a University Lecturer for a fixed-term position from January 1, 2027, to April 30, 2028, who can teach criminal law and procedural law. The responsibilities of the University Lecturer in Law include providing undergraduate education as well as supervising and examining theses in the Bachelor of Laws program and in one or more of the faculty's Master’s programs. The languages of instruction for the position are Finnish and English. The University Lecturer will conduct independent scientific research and manage jointly agreed administrative and other tasks. Teaching responsibilities also include instruction under the Open University brand. The place of employment for University Lecturers is Helsinki, but the position also involves teaching duties at the faculty's education unit in Vaasa. The role is teaching-oriented. Requirements for the Position and Evaluation of Qualifications Candidates must hold a relevant doctoral degree in accordance with the University of Helsinki's regulations and demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality research-based teaching and supervise theses. The University Lecturer must have good teaching skills. Pursuant to the Government Decree on Universities (770/2009), appointees to teaching and research positions at the University must be proficient in the language in which they provide instruction, i.e., Finnish or Swedish. Additionally, successful performance of the duties requires a good command of the English language. Job Purpose: The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to develop a Multimodal AI for Fire Detection & Safety Systems. Key Responsibilities:  Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Collaborator and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: Develop and deploy multimodal AI algorithms for fire, smoke, and hot-work detection by fusing optical, thermal/infrared, LiDAR, RADAR, and gas sensor data under varying environmental conditions. Design computer vision and human-behavior analysis models for detecting personnel, posture, casualties, and hazardous situations, including operation in low-visibility scenarios. Implement scene mapping, environment perception, and path-planning algorithms using LiDAR and RADAR data to support evacuation guidance and first-responder navigation. Build real-time predictive models for fire intensity and spread forecasting and integrate LLM-based scene description and decision support into an end-to-end deployable system. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a closely related discipline, with foundational knowledge in signal processing and machine learning. Working knowledge of computer vision and deep learning concepts, including object detection and image-based classification, with hands-on experience using Python and at least one deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch or TensorFlow). Basic experience handling and processing sensor data (e.g., camera, thermal, LiDAR, RADAR, or similar perception sensors) in real-world or laboratory settings. Familiarity with Linux-based development environments and standard software tools for data analysis, model training, and evaluation. Ability to independently implement, test, and document applied research solutions, with prior experience through projects, internships, or research assistantships considered sufficient. Prior experience in publishing is desirable.
