Ref.: 532595 Work type: Full-time Department: School of Nursing (20800) Categories: Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Professor/Associate Professor of Practice (several posts) in the School of Nursing (Ref.: 532595), to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance. Fractional appointment may be considered for the suitable candidate. Applicants should possess a Registered Nurse qualification registrable with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong and a doctoral degree in Nursing or a related discipline, with local recognition and evidence of national or regional recognition of clinical excellence. They should also have substantial experience in teaching, training and/or curriculum development. The appointees are expected to play a key role in leading the School’s advanced clinical training and laboratory teaching programmes, pursuing new strategic directions for further development of clinical education within the School, etc. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of the gross income. About the role - Mō tēnei tūranga mahi The School of Agriculture and Environment, Massey University, is seeking applicants for a position in the Animal Science group as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Animal Genetics and Breeding. The purpose of this position is to provide learning and qualification outcomes for Massey students in Animal and Agricultural Science and to contribute to the scholarly outputs of the University through undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and the supervision of postgraduate students in animal genetics and breeding. The role also requires the development of an active research programme, engagement in the successful pursuit of external research funding, and interaction with industry. This is a full-time, permanent position based on the Manawatū campus in Palmerston North. About you - Mōu A PhD in Animal Science, specifically in genetics or a related area, is essential. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements A Master’s degree in Radiography or related field. Possessing a PhD will be an added advantage. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in the acute / community / other clinical rehabilitation setting. Possess clinical experience and competence in Radiography. Having expertise in general radiography or other area of specialization (e.g., MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Angiography and Fluoroscopy) is preferred. Knowledge and experience in working with simulated healthcare institution and community environment and educational manikins will be advantageous. Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT.  Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.
