We are now seeking an exceptional academic leader in the capacity of Deputy Dean – Rural and Remote Health to help build on this legacy to drive innovate and strengthen our impact to help the communities we support not just succeed, but thrive and grow into the future. As Deputy Dean, Rural and Remote Health (NT), you will shape the direction of rural and remote health education, research, and community engagement across the Territory, leading a program with national reach and real impact on the communities it serves. you will provide senior leadership across four interconnected areas: Education leadership: Operational oversight of Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, including the Northern Territory Medical Program, ensuring high-quality delivery across medicine, nursing, and allied health. Research and innovation: Advancing the College’s research agenda in the NT, securing competitive funding, and championing innovative approaches to workforce development in remote settings. Strategic partnerships: Building and sustaining relationships with NT government, healthcare providers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and peer universities to expand education, research, and community impact. People and culture: Leading a high-performing, inclusive team supporting staff through resource planning, performance development, and recognition, while contributing to financial sustainability. About You We are looking for a senior academic with a strong national profile in rural and remote health and the leadership experience to match. You will bring: A PhD or equivalent qualification, with a demonstrated record of high-quality research outputs and success in securing nationally competitive funding. Deep knowledge of current government policy in rural health and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and a track record of working effectively with Indigenous communities. Experience leading complex, multi-site academic programs, with a collaborative and decisive leadership style. The opportunity Reporting to the CEO and contributing as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Executive Director, Natural Sciences will lead a multidisciplinary portfolio of scientists, curators and collection specialists across Brisbane, Hendra and Townsville. This newly created executive role will set the strategic direction for Queensland Museum’s Natural Sciences research agenda, ensuring the organisation continues to strengthen its research profile, scientific partnerships and public impact. The Executive Director will work closely with government, universities, funding bodies, industry and philanthropy partners to grow research capability, increase access to the collections as critical research infrastructure, and secure sustainable funding opportunities. The role will also oversee the stewardship and development of Queensland Museum’s internationally significant collections and lead the ongoing evolution of the Collections and Research Centre at Hendra. Working collaboratively across the organisation, the Executive Director will help translate complex scientific knowledge into meaningful public outcomes through exhibitions, partnerships, programs and engagement initiatives. About you You are an accomplished executive leader with deep experience across scientific research, collections management, academia, museums or related sectors. You bring both scientific credibility and strategic leadership capability, with the ability to set a contemporary research agenda that responds to emerging environmental, scientific and community priorities. You understand the evolving research landscape and can identify opportunities to strengthen impact, relevance and innovation across a complex portfolio. Description The Applied Interactive Multimedia laboratory in the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a motivated research or postdoctoral associate to lead the design, development, and validation of material, control systems, and algorithms for next-generation soft haptic actuators and experiences. Note that the research involves significant interactions with collaborators in material science. The developed technologies will be utilized to develop digital twin and soft robot-assisted simulations in the areas of brain machine interaction, wearable haptics, and rehabilitation. The successful applicant will have the following technical experience in: PhD degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Material Engineering (or related field) OR 3-5 years of industry experience (Research and Development). Significant experience in haptic technologies. Hands-on Lab Building and Rapid Prototyping of Novel Proof of Concepts (Extensive on-site lab work). Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Team player with good communication skills. Proficiency in English.
