Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi is an Armenian public medical university located in Yerevan, Armenia.

The university traces its history back to 1920, and is named after the 12th-century Armenian physician Mkhitar Heratsi.

It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various fields of medicine, including general medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and public health.

Description We are inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline in the social sciences. The appointment will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and is available for up to three years. The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professor Stéphane Helleringer. The collaborative research will be on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries, with an emphasis on measurement issues and the impact of crises such as epidemics and disasters. The job entails conducting high-quality research on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries. This includes conceptualizing research questions, designing empirical studies, collecting or acquiring new data sets, and analyzing these data using advanced statistical models and visualization techniques. The job also emphasizes the dissemination of knowledge about population health, particularly through the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, software packages and/or participation in international conferences. Candidates must hold a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health or related discipline in the social sciences. The ideal candidate is preferred to have prior experience with data collection and collaboration in low-and-middle-income countries and good knowledge of R or other software for data management, analysis and visualization. The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation.
