Description The Economics Program in the Division of Social Science Division at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is inviting applications from economists with outstanding research records. Strong preference will be given to senior candidates. The Economics faculty at NYUAD is ranked among the top departments in Asia, and it offers a dynamic and diverse environment. The position features a standard teaching load of three courses per year. The post-holder will lead on the development, delivery and evaluation of sustained outreach initiatives. They will also be involved in a range of other challenging projects run across the Social Mobility and Widening Participation Department. The postholder will primarily work with pre-16 pupils and this will involve working collaboratively with and building strategic relationships with our partner schools and teachers. The post holder will work closely with the wider team, student ambassadors and key partner staff. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements SNB-valid Full Practicing Certificate (Registered Nurse). A degree in Nursing from a recognised University. Possessing a Master’s degree, PhD degree and relevant certifications will be an added advantage. Have at least 10 years of clinical nursing experience in healthcare settings. Extensive experience and knowledge of nursing skills and industry practices to bring industry perspectives to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Experience in research projects and publications will be an added advantage. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Experience in simulation education will be an added advantage. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possessing industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage (e.g., simulation training) Possession of a good network of relationships with industry partners in hospitals, community, and ILTC sectors will be an added advantage.
