Discover more via our website.Your next career opportunity You will drive the synthesis and characterisation of pressure-responsive inorganic molecular materials within a collaborative ARC project. You will gain hands-on experience with high-pressure X-ray diffraction, SQUID magnetometry, and advanced spectroscopic techniques. You will also mentor students, oversee laboratory safety, and build an independent research profile.What you will deliver: Design, synthesise and grow crystals of inorganic molecular materials that show pressure-responsive physical and electronic properties. Perform high-pressure single-crystal X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements using synchrotron and SQUID magnetometry facilities. Lead characterisation using techniques such as electrochemistry, powder diffraction, NMR, EPR and electronic spectroscopy. Oversee laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, safety compliance, risk assessments, and support for junior researchers. Publish high-quality research, contribute to funding proposals, and present findings at seminars, conferences and public forums. You may be a great fit if: Hold a PhD or equivalent in Chemistry, ideally with an inorganic or materials focus. Demonstrate strong expertise in single-crystal X-ray diffraction, including data collection, analysis and interpretation. Show a growing publication record and clear ambition to build an independent academic research career. Manage research projects effectively, meeting deadlines while working both independently and within collaborative teams. Bring experience with magnetometry or related characterisation techniques, or enthusiasm to develop these specialised skills. Research Fellows in Marine Biogeochemistry

We are seeking to recruit 2 Research Fellows in Marine Biogeochemistry to undertake research into the processes controlling biological productivity and trace element supply in the Southern Ocean. Based within the School of Ocean and Earth Science (SOES) of the University of Southampton and located at the National Oceanography Southampton (NOCS), the role will focus on the analysis of samples and observational and experimental data from the Southern Ocean within the NERC funded ‘Iron and Manganese Impacts on the Future of Southern Ocean Ecosystems (Iron-Man)’ project.  Applicants should have a PhD* or equivalent in biological oceanography / marine biogeochemistry (or a related field). You would be expected to undertake sample and data analyses originating from the recent research expedition associated with the project and disseminate key aspects of the research project related to phytoplankton ecophysiology, trace element supply and biogeochemical cycling. Knowledge or experience of at sea observational and/or experimental work, or data analysis thereof, related to phytoplankton/microbial ecology/physiology and trace elements would be advantageous. Strong quantitative and communication skills, and the ability to conduct innovative research resulting in publications in international refereed journals are essential. The successful applicants will be provided with a supportive and rewarding environment for further development of their knowledge, skills and experience, including through working as part of a large interdisciplinary oceanographic team comprised of sea-going phytoplankton and zooplankton ecologists, nutrient and trace metal biogeochemists and experts in ocean modelling. Under the guidance and support of the project (co-)PIs you will be encouraged to explore your own research interests, within the broader constraints of the overall project objectives. You will join a team led by Profs. Mark Moore, Maeve Lohan and Tom Bibby at SOES and will work closely with scientists at project partner institutions across the UK (Universities of Exeter, Liverpool, Plymouth and East Anglia and the National Oceanography Centre) as well as with our international partners.  We are committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive and aim to foster a culture of inclusion, respect and equality of opportunity within our consortium. Job Description SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION CONTINUING AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION DIVISION (CPED) The School of Continuing Education, one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School invites applications for the following positions in the Continuing and Professional Education Division: Lecturer I / Lecturer II / Assistant Lecturer (Accounting) (25260775) Applicants should possess relevant teaching and/or professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Financial Accounting Management Accounting Financial Management Economics Statistics The appointee is required to (i) perform teaching duties in related disciplines; (ii) provide academic guidance to students; (iii) develop, coordinate curriculum and manage programmes; (iv) supervise projects; (v) coordinate with the part-time teaching staff; (vi) assist administrative work for the responsible programmes/courses such as admission interview, handling students’ enquiries and organising student activities.
