Founded in 1893, the Wuhan University of Technology has existed since 2000, stemming from a merger between Wuhan Transportation University and the Wuhan Automotive Polytechnic University. As a leading Chinese higher level institution, WUT was selected as a priority under the “State 211 Project” for Chinese universities, and its Material Science and Engineering research made it into the “State 985 Project” supporting research and the internationalisation of the faculty.
WUT has three campuses: the Mafangshan Campus, the Yujiatou Campus and the South Lake new campus, which cover an area of 267 hectares. Its 27 research centres focus their work on new materials, new energy, transportation, logistics, mechatronics and automobile, information technology, resources and environmental technology. The university regularly competes in National Science and Technology Awards.
WUT also houses its own Science Park in China Optical Valley in Wuhan, where the university has incubated and fostered over six start-ups centred around new materials, fibre optic sensors, high-speed shipping, new energy technology and advanced manufacturing.
The university has collaborated with Harvard University since 2009. It also carries research with the University of California, the University of Strathclyde, the University of Michigan, the University of Southhampton, the University of Calabria, the University of Birmingham and Brunel University.
WUT’s two campuses are located 17 kilometres away from each other in Wuchang, Wuhan, in the Hubei Province. There are numerous student clubs available to join, including the French, Japanese and Environmental Protection Associations, as well as the Photography, Ping-Pong, Chess, Kung-fu, Football, Guitar, Hip-Hop Clubs and others.
Some of WUT’s famous alumni are writers Chi Li, Shen Congwen and Ling Shuhua, economist Xiaokai Yang, jurist and former judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia Wang Tieya, GPS engineer Liu Jingnan and Lei Jun - the founder of Xiaomi Tech, one of China’s largest technology companies.

The Position We now invite applications for appointment as Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Inclusive Education, Guidance and Counseling and/or Gifted Education in the Faculty of Education. Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will teach courses offered in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes related to inclusive education, guidance and counselling, gifted education, well-being for diverse learners, enrichment strategies for learners in mixed-ability classrooms, AI in gifted education, and/or social-emotional learning of gifted and twice-exceptional learners. He/She will also supervise research postgraduate students, contribute actively to research and knowledge exchange, and assume service/administrative responsibilities as appropriate. Those appointed at the senior level will also lead collaborative and interdisciplinary initiatives in research and knowledge exchange, mentor and nurture the next generation of scholars and researchers, and assume high-level service/administrative responsibilities. Essential Requirements Applicants should possess (i) a doctoral degree in Education, Inclusive Education, Guidance and Counselling, Gifted Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field; (ii) a professional teaching qualification; (iii) teaching and research experience in inclusive education, guidance and counselling, gifted education, or related areas; and (iv) a proven track record in, or strong potential for, research, scholarly publications and competitive external funding. The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in Mathematical Foundations of Computing Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in this field or a closely related field and have a strong background in research. Relevant international experience is an advantage. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes. Teaching Responsibilities In the role of a lecturer, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Computer Science (CSE) program and possibly a sibling program dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as graduate courses in the Computer Science (MCS). The expected workload for the in-class lecture conduct is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes).
