Established in 1849, William Jewell College is a Christian liberal arts college in Liberty, Missouri, US. Although throughout its history the college was associated with the Missouri Baptist Convention, the institution has been independent since 2003.
William Jewell offers majors in a wide variety of subjects. In addition, the college has an Oxbridge Honors programme in history, history of ideas, institutions and policy, literature and theory, music and molecular biology. This gives students the opportunity to study in Oxford or Cambridge for one year.
The student to faculty ratio is 10 to one and 65 per cent of classes have fewer than 20 students.
Student athletes compete in 20 varsity sports, including baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field and volleyball. These sports compete at the NCAA Division II level in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
William Jewell’s campus combines urban and rural landscapes, and is not far from Kansas City, which offers cultural activities, a busy night life and internship and job opportunities.
