About us The Department of Informatics is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Cryptography. This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to grow our department and realise our vision of a diverse, inclusive and innovative department of Informatics at one of the most prestigious universities in the UK. Areas of research expertise of particular interest include protocols, applied cryptography, cryptography in the wild or theoretical cryptography. Lattice-based cryptography is not an area of interest for this position. We consider cryptographic challenges from a broad perspective. Members of the department regularly publish in and sit on the program committees of top-tier and well-known venues in cryptography and information security. It is the research transformative aspect that provides the opportunity to serve society while supporting King’s as an outstanding institution in science and technology. The successful applicant for this post will be involved in delivering teaching in a core area of computer science. The successful candidate will be appointed to the Cybersecurity (CSY) group, where our work on cryptography sits, and will have the opportunity to contribute to cross-cutting hubs (see https://www.kcl.ac.uk/informatics/research). Research collaboration across research groups, with departmental hubs and with other Departments in the Faculty and across the College is strongly encouraged. This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered on an indefinite contract. About the role Undertake a self-directed programme of research and scholarship at a level commensurate with current international standard. Enhance the research profile of the Department through academic outputs, including publications and scientific meetings, scholarship, academic and industrial collaboration, impact and other externally facing activities. Supervise and train postgraduate students and postdoctoral research staff to ensure their effective development. Contribute to academic management and support the administration and development of the department to further its education, research activities, and ambitions. Deliver an excellent student experience through innovative teaching and assessment methods for both undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, in core computer science and a specialism in information security and cryptography. Be responsible for the wellbeing and pastoral care of students, including acting as Personal Tutor. Engage with and contribute to department, faculty, and institutional level initiatives in accordance with strategy at all levels of the organisation. Actively promote and participate in equality, diversity, and collegiality. About you To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria PhD in cryptography or a closely related field. Ability to define and lead a research area and a growing research record in cryptography as evidenced by publications in top cryptographic and security venues such as IACR flagship conferences or ACM CCS, IEEE S&P, USENIX Security; research experience and good reputation in relevant research field; potential to acquire research project funding; ability to supervise research students. Ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in core areas of computer science. Ability to make a significant contribution to administrative work. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements SNB-valid Full Practicing Certificate (Registered Nurse). A degree in Nursing from a recognised University. Possessing a Master’s degree, PhD degree and relevant certifications will be an added advantage. Have at least 10 years of clinical nursing experience in healthcare settings. Extensive experience and knowledge of nursing skills and industry practices to bring industry perspectives to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Experience in research projects and publications will be an added advantage. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Experience in simulation education will be an added advantage. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possessing industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage (e.g., simulation training) Possession of a good network of relationships with industry partners in hospitals, community, and ILTC sectors will be an added advantage.

About us: The post will be based in the Department of Biostatistics & Health Informatics at KCL, within the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN). About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join a pioneering project at the intersection of speech analytics, mHealth, and precision psychiatry. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an internationally unique study that integrates speech analysis with qualitative and quantitative methodologies at scale, aiming to transform our understanding of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and advance patient-centred mental health care. The postholder will play a central role in collecting and analysing large-scale speech and wearable data from participants in the GLAD Study cohort (https://gladstudy.org.uk/). Using large language models (LLMs) and acoustic analytics, they will uncover patterns in content, lexical choice, prosody, and acoustic features. These speech-derived measures will be integrated with insights derived from wearable data, structured assessments, medical records, and multi-omics datasets to enable innovative genetic and biomarker association studies, supporting the development of stratified and personalized approaches to mental health treatment. In addition to conducting cutting-edge analyses, the postholder will prepare research findings for dissemination in high-impact, REF-returnable journals and actively engage with Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPI-E) efforts to ensure authentic, patient-centred interpretations of the data. To be considered for this role, you should have: A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g., biostatistics, machine learning, computer science, clinical informatics, natural language processing).
