About Westminster College (Pennsylvania)

Westminster College is a private liberal arts institution in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. It has been linked to the Presbyterian Church (USA) throughout its history.

Westminster was one of the first coeducational colleges in the country when it was founded in 1852. Though a small, specialist institution, Westminster runs over 50 different academic courses, including 10 pre-professional programmes: medicine, dentistry, engineering and a range of others.

Its 300-acre campus in the town of New Wilmington is composed of more than 20 buildings, 10 tennis courts, numerous other sports facilities and a lake. It is 55 miles north of Pittsburgh and just east of Ohio, which Cleveland is the closest major city in, 80 miles north west of the university.

Thomas DiLorenzo, an Austrian School economist who has taught at numerous universities across the US and published books about socialism and Abraham Lincoln, and Tim Kaiser, a television producer involved in seminal sitcom Seinfeld, and Will and Grace, both went to the college.
