The HIU is a private, state-recognized university based in Berlin with additional study centers in Hamburg, Munich, and Stuttgart. We are looking for you for our Berlin study center. The position is available immediately and is initially limited to 2 years, though we aim for permanent employment. Responsibilities: Representing the department in teaching (18 SWS for full-time) and research in English Contributing to the development and teaching of the planned Bachelor’s program Advising international students in close collaboration with the International Office Supervising students’ theses and, where applicable, supervising internship phases Advising prospective students and conducting informational and admissions interviews Establishing and maintaining collaborations and networks Actively shaping opportunities for collaboration with the institutions of the Health Campus at ukb (e.V.) Participation in university committees Research and publication activities and representing the university in the scientific community Acquiring external funding and contributing to the university’s research profile Willingness to teach in related degree programs at the university Willingness to travel to other study centers due to the university’s decentralized structure Your responsibilities: Upon assuming the role of program leader, you will be responsible for: The continuous academic and curricular development of the program in line with current developments, research, publications, and trends in academia, professional practice, and society Representing the program within the academic community Supporting program accreditation processes in cooperation with the university’s “QM and Accreditations” unit Coordinating academic and organizational aspects of the program For the role of program leader, business-level proficiency in both written and spoken German and English is required. In order to deliver on the University's ambitious strategic plan, we are seeking academics and professionals who are passionate about improving health outcomes and/or health equity in the local, national and global communities, who are committed to research, and are team players, ready to contribute across the broad field of academic activities. The University is seeking to employ a Research Fellow (Level B) to join the team of Prof. Steve Kamper and team in MMFF funded medical research study - Pain Smart. The aim of the study is to estimate the effect of a pain education module plus (for those reporting significant musculoskeletal pain) or individualised support to students attending secondary schools. This is a study led by a team from the University of Sydney and is a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) supported by the Australian Government. Prof. Kamper and team have developed a pain education module and tailored biopsychosocial care for those who experience significant musculoskeletal pain. The Role Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Department of Engineering, with a focus on advanced solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) modelling, three-dimensional combustion and engine simulation, and AI-assisted modelling approaches for hybrid marine propulsion system development incorporating a range of decarbonisation technologies. This position is part of the EPSRC MaRes Hub and the Horizon Europe project SEASTARS, both of which aim to advance maritime sustainability through the integration of innovative emission-reduction and energy-efficiency technologies across multiple ship classes and shore power applications. The project seeks to deliver industry-relevant modelling toolkits that enable optimal design and operation of greener vessels, backed by real-world demonstrations. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of multi-disciplinary modelling, advanced AI algorithms, and decision-support tool development. Responsibilities will include programming, analysing and interpreting data, and contributing to innovative solutions that support maritime decarbonisation. Additional duties involve supporting research funding proposals, engaging in licensing or spin-out activities, and enhancing the public and commercial impact of the research. The post-holder is employed to work on the EPSRC and Horizon projects which will be led by Prof Dawei Wu. Whilst this means that the post-holder will not be carrying out independent research in his/her own right, the expectation is that they will contribute to the advancement of the project, through the development of their own research ideas/adaptation and development of research protocols. This post is fixed term is time limited and will end on 31/12/2027. Successful applicants will, ideally, be in post by 1 July 2026.
