	Mechanical Engineering / Material Engineering / Marine Engineering: Transport infrastructure asset management / Domain Expertise in maintenance, operation and modelling of infrastructural assets and systems 
	Systems Engineering: Competent in data analytics for the power industry or building services / Experience in integrated digital technology such as AR/VR for system maintenance, including electrical power and thermal assets in buildings or shipyard or aviation / Strong background in Infocomm Technology for IoT implementation and integration


Successful candidates will join the Engineering (ENG) Cluster (one of five academic clusters in SIT), as members of a team of accomplished experts who are passionate about higher education and deeply involved in industry transformation through applied research programmes.

Faculty in the ENG Cluster undertake funded industry-relevant research, teach courses in civil, mining, electrical, mechanical, material, marine and systems engineering as well as supervise graduate industry masters and doctorate students in relevant topics. They are also provided with paid leave to undertake consultancy work with industry and/or spend time attached with industry.

We will prioritise collegial and team-spirited candidates with either (a) an earned PhD or equivalent from a reputable university with specialisation in any of the above-mentioned areas and some relevant work experience, or (b) extensive industry experience with demonstrated strong technical expertise in the above-mentioned areas.

Job Purpose

The Industry Engagement Manager is responsible for managing and deepening relationships with a portfolio of partner companies for the AI Training Programme. The role ensures the continuity, quality, and value of industry partnerships, acting as the bridge between external partners and internal technical teams. The incumbent will exercise independent judgement in assessing account health, interpreting partner needs, identifying emerging issues, and deciding the appropriate follow-up, routing, or escalation required. The incumbent will also coordinate legal agreements, support marketing and events, and exercise sound judgement in managing partner needs and issues, contributing to the programme’s strategic objectives and reputation.

Key Responsibilities


	Drive the negotiation and renewal of partnership agreements, ensuring timely execution and compliance with financial terms.
	Monitor and track partnership-related revenue streams and financial obligations as part of contract management.
	Identify opportunities for partnership expansion that may contribute to programme revenue growth.
	Manage a portfolio of partner companies, ensuring regular engagement and account health.
	Coordinate legal documentation and maintain accurate records of agreements and renewals.
	Act as the technical liaison, ensuring partner needs are clearly communicated and routed to the appropriate internal teams.
	Support the planning and execution of marketing activities, workshops, and showcase events.
	Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Programme Leader on partner prioritisation, retention risks, and engagement opportunities.


Job Requirements


	Degree in any discipline.
	Proven relationship or account management experience, ideally managing multiple stakeholders concurrently.
	Experience managing ambiguous stakeholder requests, prioritising issues, and escalating matters appropriately in a relationship, account management, customer success, technical coordination, or programme environment.
	Experience coordinating contracts and liaising with legal teams (prior exposure is an advantage).
	Experience supporting events or marketing activities.
	Experience managing or supporting Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes.
	 Prior experience in a client-facing technical role (e.g., solutions, pre-sales, customer success, developer relations, or technical project coordination) is strongly preferred.
	 Ability to understand and summarise business and technical discussions for both non-technical and technical stakeholders.
	Familiarity with the CET landscape and industry collaboration models is an advantage.

	Sound knowledge of economic theory, and principles in competition, regulation and industrial policy.

	Experience in supervising postgraduate students at PhD and Master’s level.
	Proven knowledge and experience in Research Methodologies relevant to the Economics discipline (especially in the areas of Industrial Policy; Competition and Regulation; Sustainable Development) at postgraduate level.
	Proven experience in attracting, applying for and executing external grant funded projects and research.
	Proven experience in research leadership and management of research teams.

Description

The Shubeita laboratory in the program of Physics, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate or Associate Research Scientist to work on unravelling principles that drive cellular organization.

The successful applicant will lead research projects to study the interplay between active cytoskeletal transport, cytoskeletal organization, and the physical driving forces of macromolecular crowding. Research will take place within a multidisciplinary group of Post-doctoral and Pre-doctoral researchers trained in physics, biology, and chemistry with whom the successful candidate will collaborate closely.

Applicants must have a PhD in physics or biological physics. Excellent analytical skills are required and prior experience in soft matter or biological physics research is preferable. Prior experience in the experimental techniques used in the lab such as optical tweezers and quantitative imaging is advantageous but not required.

The successful candidate will be appointed as a Postdoctoral Associate if they received their PhD within the past five years, or as an Associate Research Scientist if more than five years have elapsed since the degree was awarded.

The Position

Applications are invited for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Physical Geography, to commence as soon as possible.

The Department seeks a dynamic and innovative scholar with a strong foundation in physical geography and demonstrated expertise in applying artificial intelligence (AI) to pressing environmental challenges. The successful candidate will bridge physical geography with cutting-edge computational and AI-driven methodologies, contributing to the Department's strategic vision of integrating geospatial data sciences with environmental and sustainability research.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:


	Conduct high-impact, internationally recognised interdisciplinary research in physical geography, addressing geographic questions in areas such as land-atmosphere interactions, environmental change, and Earth surface system science.
	Publish consistently in top-tier, peer-reviewed international journals.
	Develop and secure competitive external research funding.
	Teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contribute to curriculum development, and design new courses relevant to the Department's programmes.
	Supervise postgraduate research students, including MPhil and PhD students.
	Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration across the Department's three research themes and with external partners.
	Contribute to departmental service, administration, and knowledge exchange activities.


Requirements

Applicants must:


	Hold a PhD in Geography, Earth System Science, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
	Demonstrate strong expertise in physical geography, such as climate change, biogeography, hydrology, land surface processes, planetary health, or environmental systems.
	Have a strong record of high-impact publications in reputable international peer-reviewed journals.
	Demonstrate experience in, or clear potential for, securing competitive research grants.
	Have experience in, or show clear potential for, university-level teaching and postgraduate student supervision.


Candidates with 2-3 years of postdoctoral experience are preferred. Experience with AI-driven Earth observation data analysis, physically based modelling, ecological and carbon cycle research, public health research, or environmental monitoring systems will be considered an advantage.

Terms of Appointment

The appointment will be made on a fixed-term, full-time contract for an initial period of three years, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second three-year fixed-term contract. A highly competitive salary, commensurate with qualifications and experience, will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and a University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided, as applicable.
