The Sydney Conservatorium is now looking for an outstanding viola player and pedagogue to join the faculty and contribute to the culture of excellence that currently exists within the institution. The successful candidate will be an insightful and inspiring musician with substantial performing and teaching experience at an international level, and someone who is able to work collaboratively and imaginatively to ensure the institution remains a beacon of music education in Australia. In addition to giving individual lessons, duties will include sharing responsibility for leading a weekly viola class and also chamber music coaching and/or orchestral training. Part time position – 0.6FTE Fixed term until 31/12/2030 Position based at Melbourne (Bundoora) Salary level B from $114,855 plus 17% superannuation About the position The Clinical Liaison Academic - International Student Support (Nursing and Midwifery) will support activities in the Health Professions Clinical Education Unit (HPCEU) with a particular focus on strategies to ensure quality international student professional experience placement. The role will involve working closely with key university stakeholders, clinical academic coordinators, subject coordinators and students, along with participating in related scholarship activities in facilitating quality pre- and post-placement learning and teaching for onshore international students. Duties will include but not be limited to:  Provision of information and limited pastoral care, and referral to LTU services and external agencies as appropriate to onshore international students, with respect to matters such as adjustment, homesickness, family problems, academic progress, health and finance. Co-ordination and linking into existing LTU and other community stakeholders’ engagement programs that address international student social inclusion and cultural connection needs. Develop and deliver activities that equip international students with practical communication, documentation and active listening skills that are tailored to health service environments. Work collaboratively with Clinical Academic Coordinators, Placement Partnering and Operations team, and subject coordinators to ensure international students are optimally prepared for professional experience placement. Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, you will have: Registered or eligible to register as a Registered Nurse and/or registered midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). PhD degree (or working towards) or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas. Job Description FACULTY OF SCIENCE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS Lecturer I / Lecturer II (25260592) The Department invites applications for the position of Lecturer specialising in mathematics, in particular operations research, statistics, or an area complementing the Department’s teaching profile.  Responsibilities: Teaching courses in his/her fields of expertise; Teaching general education courses offered by the Department;  Curriculum design or related matters;  Supervising student projects and fieldwork practice;  Promotional activities for the University, Faculty or Department; and Other duties as assigned by the Head of Department. Requirements: Applicants should possess a relevant PhD Degree and teaching experience is preferred. They are expected to be energetic and motivated, and actively participate in current teaching programmes of the Department. The appointee may need to conduct teaching in the collaborated institution BNBU, Zhuhai. They should have good communication skills, and be proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua). They should also be student-oriented, a self-starter and a congenial team player. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Lecturer II. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and funding. Key Responsibilities Participate in the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake one of the three responsibilities: Develop an interactive metaverse application for online education, team collaboration, and workplace training with a focus on real-time interactive simulation. (app developer) Design, build, and implement a multiplayer architecture and backend services for a real-time AR/VR multiplayer system. (network engineer) Design, build, and implement the the game engine for both client and server. (game engine software engineer) Perform testing Perform documentation and optionally publishing paper to international conferences/journals. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements A degree in Computer Science or relevant field Experience with software development life cycle For app developer role: Strong knowledge in C++ and/or Javascript for 3D/VR applications (e.g., babylon.js, A-Frame, etc.) will be an advantage Experience in developing XR app for teaching & learning/training. Experience developing optimized modules in C#/C++ within Unity and/or Unreal Engine Experience with database management systems For network engineer role: Experience in computer networking, multiplayer architecture, and backend services Experience in connecting backend to various internal and external services and microservices. Deep knowledge in computer network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, and other relevant network protocols). Expertise in handling latency, packet loss, and synchronization issues. Expertise in designing a scalable server architecture for handling thousands to millions of concurrent players, Load balancing, auto-scaling, and server instance management. Expertise in securing a multiplayer game network system. Knowledge of encryption techniques to ensure data in transit remains confidential. Prevention measures against common threats like DDoS attacks, SQL injection, and cheating. Experience in multiplayer game services such as Azure PlayFab, AWS GameLift, Google Cloud Servers, and other similar services. Strong knowledge in C++ will be an advantage. Experience with database management systems Familiarity with core engine technologies such as engine architecture and streaming. The professorship of nuclear power engineering is located at the Department of Energy Technology of the LUT School of Energy Systems (LES). The position is based in Lappeenranta, Finland. The professorship focuses on engineering of nuclear power generation for electricity, heat, and chemicals. LUT University’s Nuclear Engineering Laboratory has extensive capabilities for nuclear thermal-hydraulic experimentation and analysis, including advanced measurement technologies and data processing, modern computational facilities, and coupled code development for the modelling of coupled reactor physics – thermal hydraulic – fuel behaviour problems. The university has made significant investments in these experimental capabilities, and the laboratory has a robust mix of ongoing academic and contract research with strong prospects for continuation. The professorship’s field of research includes the following: thermal hydraulics experimentation and/or modelling nuclear power plant engineering, including commercial-scale and/or modular nuclear reactors nuclear energy conversion process modelling, design, and optimisation nuclear safety analysis methodologies The main application areas: safe and economic operation of current industrial-scale nuclear power plants resolving emerging issues related to availability or safety deployment of novel nuclear technologies beyond the current state of the art The person appointed to the professorship must present strong research achievements in at least one of the research fields and application areas above and is expected to lead and oversee a high-level academic research group.
